Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the StoryKeepr platform and supplements our Terms of Service. By using StoryKeepr, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, host, or distribute content that:

  • Infringes on the copyright, trademark, patent, or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity
  • Contains plagiarized, pirated, or stolen works — including books, manuscripts, cover art, or audiobook recordings you do not have rights to
  • Is defamatory, libelous, threatening, harassing, or constitutes hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
  • Contains or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or the exploitation of minors in any form
  • Promotes terrorism, violence, or illegal activity
  • Contains malware, viruses, trojans, or other harmful code
  • Is fraudulent, deceptive, or designed to mislead (including fake reviews, impersonation, or phishing)
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation

2. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Use StoryKeepr to send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or harvest email addresses for unauthorized purposes
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits, bans, or other restrictions
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the platform in ways that degrade performance or violate these policies
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or private content
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure, security, or availability
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to StoryKeepr without written permission
  • Use the platform to collect or store personal data about other users beyond what is provided through authorized features (such as download page email collection)

3. Email Collection Responsibilities

If you use StoryKeepr's download page email collection feature, you are responsible for:

  • Complying with all applicable email marketing laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and others)
  • Providing recipients with a clear and functional way to unsubscribe from future communications
  • Not selling, sharing, or misusing collected email addresses beyond the purposes disclosed to the email provider
  • Honoring unsubscribe and data deletion requests promptly

4. Copyright & Intellectual Property

You represent and warrant that all content you upload to StoryKeepr is either owned by you or used with proper authorization. This includes book metadata, cover images, ebook files, audiobook recordings, author bios, and any other materials. If you believe content on StoryKeepr infringes your rights, please refer to the DMCA section of our Terms of Service for information on submitting a takedown notice.

5. Enforcement

We review reports of AUP violations and may take action at our discretion, including:

  • Removing or disabling access to content that violates this policy
  • Issuing warnings to the account holder
  • Temporarily suspending account access
  • Permanently terminating accounts for repeated or severe violations

We aim to act fairly and proportionally. Where possible, we will notify you before or shortly after taking action and give you an opportunity to respond. However, we reserve the right to act immediately without notice in cases involving illegal content, imminent harm, or severe violations.

6. Reporting Violations

If you believe content or conduct on StoryKeepr violates this policy, please report it to [email protected] with as much detail as possible, including URLs and a description of the violation. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email. Your continued use of StoryKeepr after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
