An eighteen-wheeler rumbled to a stop next to me. But when a big, burly man stepped out of the driver’s seat, I started thinking maybe that wasn't my brightest idea.

This prequel is a high-heat standalone short story with a take-charge, alpha-male trucker and a sharp-tongued girl who gets more than she bargained for.

Note: Although this is a prequel to a shifter novella, there are no paranormal elements in this short story.
